About Us

CESI is a charitable organisation established in 2007 in response to the needs of the Nepalese Community within the Royal Borough of Greenwich, London.

Mission

CESI exists to provide a strategic leadership role in representing the views of local ethnic minorities and disadvantaged communities by enabling, facilitating and promoting excellence in the provision of services that supports integration and well being of the communities.

Goal

CESI’s goal is to improve the quality of life of the Nepalese community in the UK in general and particularly in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Aim

CESI’s aim is to provide support for the development of capacity and skills of the socially and economically disadvantaged members of the community to be able to identify and help meet their needs and to participate fully in the wider society.

Objective

The objective is to facilitate the integration and wellbeing of the ethnic minority groups in general and Nepalese community groups in particular into the broader community within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Issues relating to elderly people; both men and women:

  • Isolation
  • Health and healthier living
  • Access to services

Issues relating to adults; both men and women:

  • Unemployment
  • Domestic violence
  • Access to services

Issues relating to youths:

  • Unemployment
  • Substance misuse
  • Gang culture

Issues relating to integration:  Access to information , Language , Culture Issues relating to promotion and preservation of heritage, culture and arts

Our Values

  • Listen to the ethnic minority communities and work with them to address their concern and issues of integration and better living.
  • Promoting accessibility, participation, equal opportunity and inclusion.

Our Working Approach

  • Adopt participatory approach where beneficiary groups are able to participate throughout the project cycle and have a say right from the planning to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation process.
  • Ensure that our projects are delivered in accordance with our equal opportunity policy and procedures so that no beneficiary is at a disadvantage because of their gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity and religion or beliefs.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and partnership with statutory and voluntary sectors.
  • Increase the ability of local workers, community facilitators, volunteers and community groups.
